HomeAway Property

The flat is on the 2nd level of an old palace of 15th C.
It was probably built, as the other buildings on this street, at the time of the construction of the Florence Cathedral and  the famous Brunelleschi Dome, to accommodate the workers that were having part in the activity. From the owner of the buildings, the Church , the name of the street  "Via della Chiesa" - "Church street".

The apartment has been on my property since late 2007 and  it was totally renovated and refurbished, preserving the ancient ceiling "a cassettone" and the original "terra cotta" floor.

living logoIt opens up onto a spacious Living Room furnished with a comfortable sofa bed (140 cm - 55 inches wide), a flat screen satellite TV, a DVD player, a HiFi audio  system. A collection of books, DVDs, CDs and info on places to visit and suggested restaurants, are available for you in this room.

kitchen logoClose to the Living Room there is a modern and fully equipped kitchen with dishes, stove,  fridge, electric oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine (in a separated utility room), a dining table for 4 people.
Two windows face on internal green courts, illuminated by the sunshine in the afternoon.

bedroom logo

In the bedroom there is an Italian "letto matrimonale" bed (160 cm - 63 inches wide), a wardrobe and a writing table. A baby cot can  be added on request.

bathroom logo

A small room with a washbasin is located before the bathroom with another sink, WC, bidet and shower. Towels, soap, hair drier are supplied.

All the rooms are air conditioned and heated autonomously.

A free wireless connection to internet is available. On request We can supply you a mobile PC.

The apartment is located on the 2nd floor without elevator and with quite steep stairs, as many  historical center houses. I cannot accommodate people with mobility problems, I'm sorry.

The apartment is strategically positioned close to "Piazza Santo Spirito" in "Oltrarno", literally "beyond the Arno", the district on the left side of Arno river where the popular heart of Florence still beats.

Here there are many famous spots you cannot miss to visit: Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens, Santo Spirito Church, Brancacci Chapel, Piazzale Michelangelo.

Then, crossing the Ponte Vecchio (the Old Bridge), at short distance, you'll be at the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza Della Signoria, Santa Croce square, Brunelleschi Dome and Giotto tower; a pleasant walk through the historical streets of Florence.

But also Here the wonderful history of Florence lives today; not only thanks to the so rich historical and artistic heritage, but also in the daily life: in the many restaurants and cafes maintaining the typical atmosphere, in the artisan workshops carrying on a century-old tradition of both spirit and working methods.

In the narrow streets of Oltrarno the true Florentine spirit lives today, so here you'll be able to live really as a Florentine.

If you are looking for a quiet neighborhood at few steps from all the beauties of Florence, Oltrarno is the right place.
